Jen and I are collaborating on the idea of an Online Baby Shower for Rogue and Jess, just for fans to participate in. I know many of you are super excited about the baby, and might want to do something sweet...here's your chance ^_^
What we would like to know is how many of you would actually be interested in participating in something like this, or whether you might have cool ideas for it.
Nothing is set in stone just yet, and feedback is greatly appreciated.

Hello everyone,
It has been an awful long time since I posted any news. I apologize, but I have been a little… well… preoccupied:-) This is a relatively short post considering all that is going on… but here goes.
The Big Announcement!
As many of you have already been made aware, Jessica and I are having a baby. It is our first child and we are really excited. The most recent sonogram revealed that we will be having a little girl. We have a picture and she looks beautiful:-) We are keeping her name a secret until she is born… in case we change our minds or something:-P
Some Fans are Concerned...
Having a baby will certainly present new challenges for Jess and me, and obviously for the whole Cruxshadows project. But it is not the end of the band… So please don't worry about that. Cruxshadows is not only my life's work, it is my livelihood, and it is more important now than ever before that we continue moving forward. I have a baby to support afterall.
Which brings me to the next topic...
The Experiment.
I have spent the last few months in the studio trying to get the foundations for the new album together. Things are not going as smoothly as I would like, and I keep finding myself desperately trying to stay on track. I know that money is very tight for everyone, present party included, but I need to do something to bring in some revenue. So I have an experiment I would like to try…
I know a lot of you love Christmas and the holidays that surround it… I really love it. Halloween to New Years is my favorite time of year. Jessica and I got married on the fifth day of Christmas in '07, so it is our anniversary as well:-) Anyway, for years I have wanted to record a Christmas song and this year I finally did it. I recorded "O Holy Night" which has always been one of my favorites. I know some of you may not be as fond of it as I, but if you do like the track I am proposing a shareware concept. From now until the 12th day of Christmas (that is about 3 weeks from now) I will put the 'O Holy Night' track AND the re-edited version of 'A Promise Made (Wedding Day)' in honor of our anniversary, online for download. There is a donate button below with the links to the songs. You can pay "something" for the songs. You don't have to pay anything… I know that not everyone has spare funds this time of year, but if you can and you like the tracks, we really appreciate it… whatever you think its worth. If not, consider it a Christmas present from the band:-) After the 12th day of Christmas the songs will be removed from the website. We are submitting them to iTunes currently, so they can be purchased there if you miss things, although I am not sure if it will be in the iTunes store in time for Christmas. If the songs seem to do well offering them as shareware, then we will see about doing more direct offerings in the future. If not, we will chalk it up to experience. Feel free to send us your feedback and let us know what you think about the whole thing... Oh, one more thing. Because so many people have asked: If you wish to use "A Promise Made (Wedding Day)" in your own wedding, there is no problem with that... none... We would be honored

Speaking of iTunes
The Cruxshadows will be releasing more of our back catalogue in iTunes and other digital download sources in the next few weeks. We will keep everyone notified of when the titles actually go back up. We are revueing which titles need remastering at this point…

The first batch of merch is up! Follow the link below to be directed to Pyro's eBay page. We are selling this stuff on eBay to try and help recover some of the loss from the recent theft... This way, everyone who has asked how they can donate to the band now has a way, and will get something in return :) More stuff may be posted up as well in a few days, depending on how the first batch does. Mod note - For those of you who haven't seen the MySpace blog, and since getting online to post everywhere isn't a high priority right now (and I don't blame them!) - the band's van was robbed of equipment and cash after returning from Europe.

I know the first thing that crossed my mind was "How can I help? Maybe I should organize something on the LJ for donations?" Then life got in the way of even posting this. And in the meantime, Rogue has posted an addendum, about fundraising and concern for the fans.

So basically, please give support to your favorite band! But please hold off any action until we've heard more. I'm absolutely certain that the Cruxshadows fan base will come together as we've always done, but it needs to be productive, and direct as an arrow. There are a few Myspace pushes to help, but I'm only reporting here anything directly from the band. I'll do my best to repost as things come up, if just to save them some extra work.

Hello everyone-
On tour right now. Today we play a show in Nurnberg, Germany. So far the tour has gone well, we had a particularly enjoyable show in London a few days ago. Eight shows in a row before our first day off, but we are still going (despite a few injuries).
I wanted to make a quick announcement to let everyone know that the Quicksilver video is completed and up. I am honestly really excited about it. Special thanks to Director Marc Shahboz and his team who went way above and beyond. We have the video viewable via youtube and our website presently. I think it turned out really well and we invite you to make a comment. You can see it by clicking here for youtube or here for our website.
Hopefully we will see all of our fans from Europe at one of our shows. I am looking forward to returning to Austria again... I am particularly excited to be going back to Rome, Italy. We are usually not touring at Christmas, and while we are a bit sad to not be home for the holidays, we have made plans to spend Christmas in the Alps. I am really looking forward to that.
Anyway... Please check out the Quicksilver video and be sure to leave a comment.
Lastly, we would like to ask our fans to help us out by writing a review of Quicksilver on Amazon.com (or amazon.de, .co.uk, or whatever amazon site is most applicable) and on the iTunes store. Another thing that really helps is when our fans publish playlists in iTunes. Playlists that include both Quicksilver and other popular songs by artists whose fans might like us help create higher visibility online. Its fun, free, and it actually helps.
Don't forget Christmas is on its way. Quicksilver makes a great Christmas present for a fan (or future fan). Has anyone in the USA seen our advert in Wizard Magazine? As we are in Europe and it is on stands now, we would love to see it if anyone feels like scanning it and emailing it to us. Also keep in mind we will be returning to the Gothic cruise in fall 2010. We will co-headline the event with Covenant. Might make a cool Christmas present... just saying, its never too early to plan.

We need your help!!
Tonight at 7:00 pm (Eastern Standard Time), a commercial radio station in Tallahassee, Florida, HOT 104.9, will do a short interview with me and play our new single Quicksilver. Getting commercial radio play, even in a market of only a few hundred thousand like Tallahassee, will really help the band and possibly lead to other stations "taking a chance" on CXS. It's taken us a long time and more than a few attempts to make this happen, and we really need our fans to help. They will play the song on their "Love it or Lose it" segment. If enough people like it they will play it in rotation, and if people dislike it, well... that's the end of it. What can you do? You can listen to the radio broadcast online, and vote with your mobile phone.
The address for the live radio broadcast is http://www.hot1049.com/Listen-Live/3009483. After the song plays all you have to do is text the phrase "lol" (without quotations) to the number 68255 on your mobile phone. They will send you a response with directions on how to text back your vote. This keeps people from voting multiple times- unless you have more than one mobilephone. You know you could probably vote with a family members phone too... just saying;-) There is no additional charge for the text, only your normal text messaging rate applies. Remember, this is for Wednesday evening. Mark your calendars, set your alarm... you get the picture. We really appreciate it.
